Mary A. (Cahill) Norton-84, of Hudson, MA, died Monday, November 27, 2006, at Bolton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlborough. 

She was the wife of the late, John R. Norton Jr. who died in 1993. 

Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary (McManus) Cahill. 

She was a 1939 graduate of St. Peter’s H.S. in Worcester, MA. She received her Nursing Degree in 1942 from Saint Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, MA . 

She was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in the European Theater from 1943 to 1946. 

She was employed as a registered nurse for Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough for 29 years until she retired in 1982.

She was a charter member of the Hudson Emblem Club, a charter member of the Women in Military Service, the Friends of the Hudson Senior Center, American Legion Post 100 in Hudson and was a member of the Saint Vincent’s Alumni Association. 

She is survived by her son; John R. “Jack” Norton and his wife Susan of Hudson, MA, She is also survived by her brother; Rev. John F. Cahill of Worcester, MA, her two grandchildren Corey and Bryan Norton, several cousins and many nieces and nephews. 

She was the sister of the late Cecilia Benoit Lavallee and Helen Cahill. 

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 29, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
