Anthony Cammarota, of Third Street, Old Forge, died Friday at the Moses Taylor

HospitalBorn in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Francesco and Elisa Sabatella Cammarota.

He graduated from Old Forge High School in 1938. He attended the Scranton-Lackawanna Business School.

He served as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army at the 304th Station Hospital of the European Theatre during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a controller by Pagnotti Enterprises, West Pittston.

He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4954; Old Forge American Legion Post 513; Felittesse Association, Old Forge; and St. Mary's Church, Old Forge, where he served as past president of its Holy Name Society. He also served as past Chairman of the Board of the Clarks Summit State Hospital; former chairman of the Old Forge Republican Committee; former secretary of the Old Forge Cemetery Association; and past president of the Fox Hill Country Club.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick; sisters, Mary Nalaschi; Theresa Wozniak; Jennie Kozala; Josephine Catania; Nellie Cammarota; and Elizabeth Moskaitis.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Jean Picchi, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Old Forge.

Interment will be in Old Forge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
