FREDERICK B. PERCY III, 83, formerly of Linwood Drive, a retired advertising executive, died Oct. 27 at Robert's Health Center.

He was the husband of the late Louise (Soban) Percy. Born in Boston, a son of the late Robert B. and Nellie I. (Young) Percy, he had lived in Cranston and East Greenwich before moving to North Kingstown, and had summered in Smallpoint, Maine.

Mr. Percy had been an advertising executive at the former Goldsmith-Traeger of Providence for 40 years, until retiring in 1984.

An Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Medical Corps as a master sergeant, he was a member of the American Legion.

He was a member of the American Heart Association.

Mr. Percy was a member of the Woodridge United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Cranston.

He enjoyed painting, especially landscapes of the Wickford area.

He leaves a son, Frederick B. Percy IV of North Kingstown; a sister, Mary Vaughn of Columbus, Ga.; a brother, Robert Percy of Northboro, Mass.; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral service and burial will be private.
