CLINTON - George J. Seymour, 88, a longtime Clinton resident, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Framingham Union Hospital. He is preceded in death by the two loves of his life, Constance (Maguire) Seymour and Theresa (Roy) Seymour.

Mr. Seymour was born in Clinton, son of the late Philip and Catherine (Murphy) Seymour, and attended local schools.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, stationed in England where he met and later married his wife of nearly 30 years, Constance (Maguire) Seymour. Upon his return, he enjoyed self-employment as a carpenter and master craftsman and later retired from the Wickwire Spencer Steel Mill after 25 years of service.

After the death of his wife in 1973, he later married Theresa (Roy) Seymour with whom he enjoyed many years of retirement in Osterville on Cape Cod. Mr. Seymour was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton, and was an avid square and ballroom dancer.

He is survived by three sons: Michael S. Seymour of Providence, R.I., David T. Seymour of Boston, and Terrence A. Seymour of Worcester; three daughters, Anne Vancelette and her husband Donald of Worcester; Sheila Seymour-Whittle and her husband Robert of Worcester; and Mary Briand and her husband William of Stoneham; a brother, Paul Seymour and his wife Virginia of Marlborough; two sisters, Edith Sullivan of Clinton; and Catherine Gordon and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Seymour is predeceased by his three brothers, Philip, James, and Lawrence Seymour, and two sisters, Betty Martin and Dorothy Girad.

A funeral was held Tuesday, April 17 at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Burial followed at St. John Cemetery in Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts, 71 Sterling St., West Boylston, MA 01583.
